Yes, if you can be in Barcelona on 23 April. Sant Jordi turns the city into a street market of books and roses, and it is usually a normal working day, so locals join in around work. The main pedestrian area runs between Diagonal, Gran Via, Pau Claris and Balmes, and every district has its own stalls.
The ritual itself. People give each other a rose and a book, and authors sign copies at stalls across the centre of Barcelona. In 2026 the City Hall also opened its doors on Sant Jordi, free with limited capacity, from 10am to 8pm. We would plan an afternoon walk along Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla de Catalunya.

Popular authors draw long queues for signatures, up to two hours for some writers in 2026, so arrive early if you want a particular book signed. Roses and books are sold everywhere in the centre.
Sant Jordi in Barcelona gets very crowded, especially in the centre from midday. Local TV betevé described Sant Jordi 2026 as massive, with full streets and signing queues of up to two hours. The outer districts are much calmer, with stalls on places like Rambla de Sants, Plaça de Sarrià and Rambla del Poblenou.
