It is a good reason to stay into late August rather than a trip in itself. The Festa Major de Sants runs for about nine days, 22 to 30 August in 2026, right after Gràcia's. It has 11 decorated streets, concerts, castells and a correfoc, and it feels very much a neighbourhood party.
The best part of the Festa Major de Sants is the decorated streets. In 2026, 11 neighbour committees in Sants transformed streets such as Valladolid, Papin, Galileu and Vallespir around themes that change every year, and the prizes were handed out on 24 August. Each street also runs its own programme of dinners, concerts and games.
Check the official Festa Major de Sants programme (PDF on the Sants-Montjuïc district website), which lists every act by day and by street. Most activities are free, while a few, like guided history walks, need booking. Street concerts often run late, so pace yourself if you want to see the daytime events too.
Busy in the evenings, but the Festa Major de Sants is smaller than Gràcia's, with 11 decorated streets against Gràcia's 23 in 2026. That usually makes it easier to get around. The biggest crowds gather late at night and at weekends around the concert streets.
