The carrers guarnits, streets and squares decorated by neighbour committees who work on them for a whole year. Gràcia had 23 of them in 2026, and five streets around Fraternitat joined to recreate The Lord of the Rings. We would walk them by day to see the detail, then come back at night when the street stages are playing.
Start at Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia, where the opening speech, the castells and the correfoc all begin. Then wander the small streets around it to find the decorated ones, like Carrer del Perill and the Fraternitat streets. Gran de Gràcia and Travessera de Gràcia carry the big popular culture parades.
It can get very crowded, especially in the evenings and at weekends, when Gràcia's narrow streets fill up around the concert stages. We would see the decorations in the morning or early afternoon, when you can stop and look. The 2026 programme included a quiet night on 17 August to balance the party with neighbours' rest.
