Yes, if you like rummaging. Els Encants, also called the Fira de Bellcaire, is one of Europe's oldest flea markets, with roots in the 14th century, now under a mirrored roof by Plaça de les Glòries. About 300 businesses sell antiques, vintage clothes, furniture, tools and oddities, and entry is free.
Go in the morning on a market day: Els Encants opens Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 8pm. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday there is an auction from 8am to 9am, which is worth getting up for if you want to see how the market works.
Keep it simple. Els Encants has its own food area, with around nine restaurants and street-food counters inside the building, fine for a coffee, a sandwich or a snack between stalls. For a longer sit-down lunch, look outside the market around Plaça de les Glòries.
